Hi Gerald, so how does your business help the community?
Thank you so much for the opportunity to speak with yall. Rockwall Wealth Advisors was created to help families and people WIN through creative financial strategies and Investment Management. As the president and founder, I know I cannot cure cancer like some of the other professionals in the world but, removing financial pressures, stress, and anxiety for individuals allows those people to focus their energies in more positive ways. Helping people with their finances is not enough to impact the world, but when applied to many clients over many years there is a multiplier effect. So to start:
1. Wealth Managers and Financial Advisors Can Help People With Their Marriage and Relationships
According to the American Psychological Association, around 50 percent of marriages in the United States result in divorce and that may be on the rise due to covid and other economic circumstances. Certified Divorce Financial Analyst and Financial advisors can certainly help people manage the financial challenges that come with divorce, but a good financial advisor may help avoid it in the first place.
2. Financial Advisors Can Help Reduce Stress and Improve overall health
Studies have linked high levels of persistent stress to health issues. However, stress is not something that’s easily cured by a trip to the doctor. It must be managed and is usually impacted by external factors. Money is one of those factors. Year after year, finances have been identified as the leading stress factor.
Financial advisors can work with individuals and families to devise financial plans and put them on a path to meet both their financial and personal goals. Whether talking about retirement and financial freedom an advisor can help people minimize some of the stress of managing finances, which makes them healthier and happier.
3. Financial Advisors Help People Be More Charitable while optimizing taxes:
People don’t need a financial advisor to donate to charity as you already know. People donate money every year to various worthy causes without ever thinking about a financial advisor. Rockwall Wealth Advisors was created by Melanie and myself to help the community with all of their financial service needs. Over a decade ago I was able to obtain my series 7, 66, & 63 licenses as well as get my CDFA® later on in my career. I realized once I had the resources from a compliance perspective to open up my own firm that I would regret it if I did not go for it. It was our opportunity to help clients while creating a desirable lifestyle for our family and employees.
Our ultimate goal is to help as many people in the community as we can while also employing top talent in the industry which will create jobs.
We truly understand by being a fiduciary that your taxes, finances, investments, estate planning, insurance, health care, and retirement all must be on the same page. Many advisors help with your investments and your investments only while we bring everything together like a well oiled machine.
Being a RIA (Registered Investment Advisory Firm) and Independent, clients know they are truly valued and not getting lost with thousands of other clients like some of the brokers dealers that literally have thousands and thousands of clients. Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Rockwall County is a unique lakefront community that is absolutely stunning. The people are full of energy and involved like none of our surrounding counties. I always check with the Rockwall Area Visitors Center for local events since there is live music, great food, and community events every week/weekend.
The Harbor in Rockwall is definitely a spot you would have to check out for great food, shopping, live music, and lakefront views/Downtown Dallas Skyline views.
Downtown Rockwall is also an incredible spot in the community. They have some of the best shopping and food around.
Amazing stores like Southern Porch and Simply Kate are some of our favorites. Restaurants such as Zanata’s, Bookclub Cafe, Wells, or The Downing will make anyone a happy camper as well. The list could go on and on.
Other great spots and things to do would definitely include Standard Service, The Yacht Club, Sail with Scott, and the breweries in town.
The Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce is also a great resource for anyone visiting the area.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I cannot take credit for our heavenly fathers work. I have been very fortunate and blessed thus far in life and he gets all the credit. Along with God, I would not be where I am without the amazing support from my beautiful wife and Co-Owner Melanie Hendrik. She is incredible and gave me her blessing to take this journey and start a business together. I would also have to thank Joshua Paigen who mentored me and was the one who helped me get a foot in the door by introducing me to Beck Schooley at TD Ameritrade where it all started for me years ago. They helped me get established and helped me gain the confidence to get where I am today. My mom will always be my Hero and my inspiration along with my 3 little kids (Mackenzie, Witten, and Sawyer).
